I just saw three hate messages in a row on my dashboard. One said ‘you’re ugly as fuck’, another said ‘kill yourself’ and the third said ‘your blog is so shit’. All anonymous, all to different people/blogs. I’m getting so sick of seeing this shit on Tumblr. Tumblr is supposed to be a place where we can say and post what we want without being judged - but it hasn’t been like that for months now. It’s sad to see such a great site turn to shit because people are taking advantage of it. And might I add, telling someone to kill themselves is completely unacceptable and fucking disgusting; if you sent that to someone who was mentally unstable, or on the verge of suicide anyway, you could push them completely over the edge and yes, their death would be your fault. Get some decency - if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all. It takes less effort to keep your mouth shut, than it does to say/type/send bad things, so why bother. Grow up and realize that your words can actually really hurt someone, whether they respond to you or not.
